Pride 2021
A word on queerness and pride.

A word on queerness and pride.
What is pride to me?
Pride is resistance.
Pride is survival.
Pride is revolution.
Pride is remembering those lost.
Pride is caring for each other.
Pride is building family.
Pride is community.
Pride is people over profit & power.
Pride is fighting to build a better world every day, in small and big ways.
Pride is knowing there's nothing wrong with you for rejecting the cis hetero capitalist patriarchy.
If your pride isn't intersectional, anti-racist, anti-ableist, anti-fatphobic, anti-capitalist, and anti-cop, then you're missing the point. It is everyone's responsibility to recognize and dismantle the oppressions they benefit from, so that our world can be more just.
Pride means dismantling white supremacy, dismantling settler colonialism, dismantling classism, dismantling healthism, dismantling carceral systems, and so much more.
Yeah, it might feel like a lot to tackle, but we can do it together. We must do it together. In the words of Micah Bazant, "No Pride For Some of Us Without Liberation For All of Us".

Pride is queer
& radical
& necessary
& our past
& our future.
